It has been a loooong time since I started the panel saw project. Life got in the way. In Part 3, I correct the design error/misread plans; make and attach the pulleys and pulley bracket; and make and attach a counter-balance. Here's where I left off in Part 2. The frame was built and painted. The folding legs attached and the saw mounted. As you recall, I "misread" my modified plans and made the base 2" too narrow. |

I've never been happy with the split fence that came with my Grizzly G1035 1-1/2 HP Shaper. The fence slides were not coplanar and I could never quite get the face of the fence parallel. This resulted in a slight amount of snipe. I debated taking the fence to a local machinist and having the slides made coplanar but decided it would be cheaper to replace it. After a lot of research, I settled on the Freud SH-5 Router Table Fence.

Sometime around August 21st, 2006 or so, someone defaced my website.
